In Japan, medical fees follow a national “points” schedule that assigns fixed points to each medical service.

For patients who do not hold Japanese nationality and are not enrolled in a valid Japanese public health insurance plan, charges are calculated at 20 yen per point (no insurance coverage applies). Certain items―such as certificates―may be billed separately at fixed amounts, and payment is usually required on the day of service.
(日本国籍を有さず、日本の公的医療保険制度に加入していない患者様の料金は、1点20円で計算いたします（保険適用はありません）。各種証明書など、一部の項目は定額で別途ご請求となり、通常は受診当日のご精算をお願いしております。)

Our services are sustained by insurance premiums paid by Japanese citizens and by public subsidies from the national government and Yuzawa Town. We respectfully ask visiting international patients to bear an appropriate share of costs. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
